Current Events as of July 6, 2012

Hello everybody.

Excuse our lack of updates, but we currently have been very busy within the last few weeks after the Right to Dream event held in May. So here is a recap of what has happened over the last few weeks.

June 15, 2012

On this date, Obama finally heard us and announced the Administrative Relief Policy. Under this policy, DREAMers would be able to be given relief from deportation. So far,Not much information has been given about this policy in terms of applications, cost, and renew ability. Since the announcement, Organizations everywhere have been setting up town hall meeting to inform people about the upcoming policy..

June 21, 2012

In Sussex county, there was the first town hall meeting set up in Delaware. People came to the city of Seaford, DE to figure out what the policy was all about. This being the first meeting, the team was nervous, but lucky our guest speaker, Lucy Allain, was ready to tackle the meeting and any question thrown at her.with the community informed, we counted this as our first successful meeting, with more to come.

July 5 & 6, 2012

On these past two days, the team has set up two events back to back. The first one was in Wilmington, where we went into more detail about the policy and what is to await from it. After the event, we had the honor to meet two new members to the team, Meanwhile In Sussex,  The second event was held with great results as well. Our team members had the lucky chance to be in a video interview, which is posted on facebbok and will soon be posted here.

So far, we have been planning for more meetings and for more events so keep making sure you check back often. Information on the Relief will be posted tomorrow. Til then, remember to Keep on Dreaming!
